It’s
a Wednesday night, just finished dinner. Everything around me looks same as any
other day. Some channel on TV and is being muted, I was holding my iPad playing
subway surfer, my roomie was busy with his laptop [Could be in FB as usual], my other roomie was busy with his phone [Could be with his girlfriend] home
theatre is running some songs which my roomies doesn't care to listen and my
phone is just a hand distance away. Three of us are under one roof but we
hardly speak unless it is necessary. Should we be happy that technology shortened
the distance between people or sad that it had distanced the nearby people.
Such a nice song from the home theatre, - “tonight
is going to be a good night, tonight is going to be a good good night”- I too
hope so. Whoa whoa whoa… it’s about Malaysian flight news in TV. [Unmuted TV] Seems like I cannot stick to my swear for so long, it’s already
11 but and no traces of Malaysian flight. Yes, I swore to myself that I would not fly
until Malaysian flight traced out. TV

my phone' a txt message to my phone. I looked at my phone again. It has two
sparkling stars at the backside of phone which my phone should not be having.
It seems like my phone got exchanged. There is a nice girl pic on the phone's
desktop. 'You are looking amazing' I replied. Started thinking when my phone
got exchanged and felt happy about the happy accident happened today.
She: when ll u return my ph?
Me: when shall v meet?
She:tmr?
Me: i hv ofc. There is nothing urgent for me. Hw abt this wknd?
She: wknd!! C'mon still 2 more days to go.
Me: Hey..Do you remember ? tomorrow is Nikhil's b'day.
She: oh..Yeah... Do u knw 'Nikhil'?
Me: haha... There is reminder in your phone.
She: My phone????
TV unmuted, seems like my
roomies favorite anchor’s live TV program. It comes daily same time and same
girl. Believe it or not he daily tries to connect to the fancy number of the
program but never got a chance to talk with her. OMG…but not today, it got connected,
such an unbelievable thing. The same song[-“tonight is going to be a good night”] had
worked for my roomie as well. I was very eager to listen to the conversation. To my surprise, my friend who hardly speaks with me daily and busy with his phone all
the time asked the TV girl to say “Hi” to me first and then continued with his usual
bullshit. May be I should rethink on my two liner about the technology
distancing people.
She: hello, u thr?
Me: hmm.. ya ya, where do u wrk?
Me: hmm.. ya ya, where do u wrk?
I went into my room and locked.
She: you are getting call from 'rakhee'.
Me: jus, ignore.
She:Such nice ring tone u hv.
Me: liked it? My roomie always cribs about it.
She:huh, u didn’t get the sarcasm in saying nice ring
tone.U can easily kill someone with this ring tone.
Me:Oh…was little excited by the appreciation..
She: where did my phone get exchange!!! Did u come to pvr forum today?
Me: yes.
She: land mark book shop?
Me: yes..
She: ok, there it happnd. I kept my phone on fiction books, while reading a book.
Me: i remember that i kept my phone on autobiographies but found it on fictions :). Both sections were side by side :)
She: ok, tomorrow pvr landmark,5:00pm???

Me: I heard frm a survey that most the girl’s mobiles
are busy from 10:30PM to 12:00PM, and most interesting part of it is 90% of
them will be speaking with guys J
